Big Shot Golf was founded in 2006 as a small group of friends who shared a passion for golf. What began with regular rounds every couple of weeks and the occasional golf trip to Spain or Portugal has grown into one of the UK's most active and welcoming golf communities.
In the early years, our Facebook group was simply a place to share photos, stories and updates from our trips. Around 2015, golfers from across the UK began discovering and joining the group, and our membership quickly expanded. As the community grew, so did our ambition. We started organising larger society days, securing bookings at some of the country's finest courses and welcoming new faces at every event.
One of our earliest landmark events took place at Prince's Golf Club in Kent. The format was simple: 18 holes of golf followed by a Christmas lunch. The day was such a success that we made it an annual tradition. In true golfing fashion, the following year's event was met with howling winds and relentless rain, leaving us soaked from head to toe. Surprisingly, everyone loved it, and that spirit of enjoying great golf and good company, whatever the weather, remains at the heart of Big Shot Golf today.
Since then, our members have enjoyed unforgettable rounds at some of the most highly regarded courses in the UK and around the world, including Prince's, Hankley Common, West Sussex, Camberley Heath, The Addington, Royal Aberdeen, Cruden Bay, Nairn, St Andrews Old Course, Trump Turnberry, Royal Johannesburg, Sun City, Lost City and the breathtaking Lofoten Links in Norway, among many others.
We're proud to be an informal golf society where friendship and enjoyment come first. There's no requirement for an official handicap, just a love of golf and a willingness to be part of a friendly and welcoming community.
While there are many golf societies to choose from, we've always tried to do things a little differently. Our focus on playing renowned and Top 100 courses has given members the opportunity to experience some truly special venues. Alongside our regular events, we organise one or two golf trips each year, creating memories that last long after the final putt drops.
Recent highlights have included the spectacular Lofoten Links in Norway, an unforgettable trip to Johannesburg, South Africa, and upcoming adventures to the stunning Thracian Cliffs in Bulgaria.
Today, our community continues to go from strength to strength, with almost 1,500 members in our Facebook group and new golfers joining us every year. Whether you're looking to play outstanding courses, meet like-minded golfers or simply enjoy the game in great company, we'd love to welcome you to Big Shot Golf.
